As the second generation of Israelites are nearing the entrance of the Promised Land, Moses dives into his first speech to encourage God's people to love the one true, unique and near God with all their heart, soul & might, to obey His commandments, and to devote themselves fully to His cause.
As God instructs Moses to speak to a rock & bring forth water for His people, Moses takes things into his own hands and is not allowed to enter the Promised Land. As the people of God march forward, Yahweh saves His people from destruction with a Bronze Serpent & speaks blessings through Balaam instead of curses.
As we jump into Numbers, we continue the story of the Israelites in the wilderness. As they leave Sinai & spy out the Promised Land, do they enter in or do they cower in fear? Listen in as we discuss the fear of the people but the faithfulness of God.
As Israel agrees to the covenant of Yahweh, they quickly turn to idols & break what they God just established. But, as we soon find out, Moses is a godly man that intercedes for the people & desires nothing but the presence of God.
As the Israelites step out of Egypt and into freedom, they rejoice in the might of Yahweh... But does it last? To reassure Israel of His steadfast love & faithfulness, He draws a covenant and allows His presence to dwell among His people in a physical form called the Tabernacle.
As Genesis closes, we see Joseph proclaim that God means all things for good. After 400 years in slavery have passed, do the Israelites agree? Join us as we follow the story of Moses & the deliverance of God's people.
Hope seems lost as Israel's sons sell Joseph into slavery; but God uses imperfect men & works all things out for good.
