Giving Our Yes – Wendy Abboud

Not long ago I was meditating on a message from Pastor Lee and Mary, the mother of Jesus, giving her “yes” to God.  I was thinking on what the Lord has taught me and encouraged me with this semester at LSU, and I wanted to share this in hopes that someone else might be encouraged. Kristy Furlow also touched on this in what she shared in a recent prayer meeting.

I think of Mary after she gave the Lord her “yes”. Day in and day out she had to be frightened, doubting, so unsure of herself and of what would happen as she walked in her “yes”.

The Lord was so good and kind to give her some encouragement along the way and confirmation through Elizabeth, the shepherds, the wise men, Simeon and Anna but I would imagine that for most of the time, what she perceived happening in the natural, what she felt and what she saw was totally contrary to what the Lord asked her to stand on which was His word and promise of what was to come.

I believe Him. I believe He does far more than what we see happening when we give our “yes”. Whatever your “yes” may be, whether it’s a “yes” you’ve been walking in or a “yes” you’re about to step into. I pray the Lord uses this to strengthen and encourage you. Keep walking in whatever He’s given you for as long as He says regardless of what you see happening around you. Along the way, you will see the Lord do the miraculous but keep going on the days and in the seasons where maybe you aren’t and in the natural it all seems for naught. Ask the Lord to give you faith that He is doing far more than you can ask or think and you’ll see it all one day in Heaven.
