MAD! – Lee Shipp

We have read about it … it has been preached for 2000 years. Now it is here. It is not pretty, nice, or pleasant. Actually, it is very disturbing: the violence, hate, and division. But God said it would not be pretty, palatable, or easy. He said men would become worse. The love of many would wax cold. That is why we can watch a man shot down in the streets (on any news channel) and see the people celebrate his death. It is the ugly truth about mankind.

What is so sad, it is not the fact that the world has come to this, for the Lord told us it would. What is sad is that multitudes are throwing away their confidence. Their faith is failing! They are mad at God. This astounds me. For millenniums now we have been warned in the scriptures of this calamity and the return of the Lord; now it is occurring, and people of faith are abandoning their faith – Dear God help us.

How can you be mad at God? It makes no sense. Israel would constantly forsake the Lord and His ways, then when trouble came, they blamed the Lord. Mad at God? Really? Is God the one who is in the streets killing and rioting? Is God the one running the governments? No! He was kicked out in the sixties. Yet, we want to blame Him for all this chaos.

Multitudes are losing their faith. They may not be losing their confession, but they are losing their faith. They are throwing away their confidence. They are falling away. They love to confess the right thing, but their faith is absent. Faith without works is dead. They have abandoned the Body of Christ (the Church). They have failed to follow Jesus in the last few months of the most exciting times the world has ever known. The greatest days of evangelism are here and yet multitudes of evangelical believers are sitting in their homes afraid, blaming God, and missing the greatest harvest-time the Church has ever been given. Like Ephraim, they were equipped to serve the Lord but turned back in the day of battle … they kept not the covenant with Jesus (Psalms 78).

My heart is poured out for you beloved. Please do not allow yourself to be one of those who is a part of the great falling away that Thessalonians speaks of. Do not become one of those who turns back as Hebrews 10 describes. Jesus is coming! Do not be discouraged by what you see but rejoice that your Lord exposed this moment two-thousand years ago and He chose you to serve Him in one of the greatest moments of history. Do not turn back. You have no right to question or blame God for what you watch on TV. This is the result of a world that hates God and has rebelled against every good thing God has wanted for man. I must conclude; I beg you beloved, rise up … be a soldier of Christ and serve your Lord well with living faith and not just a confession – He is at the door!
