To The Praise of His Glory

“Oh, how the love of God exceeds all other loves! A mother’s love may fail, a father’s pity may die, but the love of God is steadfast and sure.” C.H. Spurgeon—Sermon: “The Everlasting Love of God”

The Father has “Agaped” us! What amazing love; love that would make a way for us to be saved, to live, to be blessed: “God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him” 1 John 4:9, (CSB).

Out from His Beloved Son, Jesus, the Father sends you grace and peace! How beautiful and glorious is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ—just look how He has blessed us with everything in Christ.

Before He ever created the universe, He chose us in Christ. He determined that we would stand before Him holy and without blame in love. Long before time began, He predestined us to be His children, a work He accomplished through Jesus. It was the delight of His will to bring us into His family.

Praise be to the glory of His grace! By that

grace, He has made us accepted in His Beloved Son: “To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved. In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:6-7, KJV)

In Jesus, we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of all our sins—because His grace is so rich and overflowing. By that same grace, He has abounded toward us in wisdom and understanding, revealing His purpose and goodness toward us.

In His eternal plan, God determined that in the ages to come, He would gather everything together in Christ. Jesus has given us an everlasting inheritance, and the Holy Spirit is the guarantee of all that is yet to come.

God has purposed that all who trust in Christ— those who believe the gospel and are sealed by the Holy Spirit—will be to the praise of His glory.

THE FATHER’S ANSWER IS, “YES!”

The fact that Christ lives in you is your hope of glory! Every promise of inheritance is “Yes” in Him and “Amen” in Him. Jesus, and Jesus alone, is able to keep you from falling. He will present you faultless before the Father with exceeding joy. Our God is worthy! Our Savior is worthy to receive glory, majesty, dominion, and power—forever and ever!

ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD

Because we love Him, we know that all things are

working together for good. Our great Father is shaping

everything in our lives to make us like Himself. Those

whom He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He has glorified! If God is for you, who can be against you? He did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all. And through Jesus, He will freely give us all things.

God has justified you—so who can lay a charge

against you? Who can condemn you when the Judge Himself has pardoned you by the offering of His own Son? And this same Jesus, who was offered for you, now lives for you! He is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding on your behalf.

THE INSEPERABLE BOND

Who can separate you from the love of Christ? Consider the strength and depth of His love—the love that overcame sin, death, and hell itself! He endured the full wrath of God on your behalf so that He might love you forever. Shall tribulation, distress, or persecution separate you from His love? No way! Shall famine, nakedness, peril, or sword? Never!

Every day, we may face trials, loss, and conflict— but in all these things, His love makes us more than conquerors. I know, and I am fully convinced, that nothing—not death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nothing present, nothing to come, no height, no depth, nor any created thing—can ever separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“Nothing but the free grace of God can make

any creature lovely in His sight. He loves because He will love.”

– John Wesley.
